Update on the Passage Institute's Theology Camp, June 14-20

Dear Passage Institute Fellows, Families, Mentors, and Friends -

We received word last week that LeTourneau University has cancelled most on-ground summer activities, including the Passage Institute's residential theology camp. While we mourn the loss of this wonderful in-person gathering of high school students, college counselors, faculty, and local leaders, we support LeTourneau's desire to err on the side of caution.

Although this means that we will not be able to gather on campus this summer, we already are working hard on our three-fold response:

1) We will offer a free remote experience for returning fellows that will allow you to finish the fellowship, earn the Certificate in Christian Leadership, and receive the $16,000/year scholarship to LeTourneau University. This remote theology camp will include terrific teaching, fantastic food, super swag, cool counselors, and much more! We promise you; it will be worth your while! So, second year fellows, keep saving June 15-19. More details will follow soon.

2) It breaks our hearts to say this, but we will not attempt to recreate the Passage theology camp experience online for new fellows. For those who have registered already, we will refund your registration, send you some sweet swag, and accept you into the 2021-2022 class of fellows.

3) Later this summer we will begin releasing some biblical and theological resources for high school students and youth ministers. Let us know if you have ideas or suggestions!

Please do not hesitate to contact us with these ideas, questions, or concerns: passage@letu.edu. Remember that "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). We ask that you pray for us as we continue to pursue the vision and mission of the Passage Institute for Youth & Theology - summed up nicely by one of the early church's favorite verses, also from Psalm 34 (v. 8): "Taste and see that the Lordis good!"

May the Lord bless and keep you,

Luke Ben Tallon, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Theology, LeTourneau University
Director of Theology, Passage Institute for Youth and Theology

In the meantime, the application deadline is extended until May 15th. Use the Nominate/Apply Now link above to apply.
