Office of Development

The Office of Development is focused on building and continuing relationships with LeTourneau University. We want to help alumni and friends of LETU tell their story, connect or be a part of the giving community. By investing in LETU students and the mission of LeTourneau, you join with us to impact the world for Christ. It is the legacy of founder R.G. and Evelyn LeTourneau, and it is your legacy, too.

There's No Place Like LeTourneau.

A Christ-Centered Philosophy of Asking and Giving

  1. God Owns It All (I Chronicles 29:14)
God created us and sustains all things and "…works within us to accomplish far more than we can ask or imagine" (Ephesians 3:20). The resources we have are His gifts to us to advance His Kingdom.
  2. God Entrusts Us And Holds Us Accountable To Manage His Resources (I Peter 4:10)
Christians are called to be managers and to live lives of stewardship of all God has given them (I Corinthians 4:1-2).
  3. The Attitude Toward Giving And Possessions Is Important To God (Philippians 4:17; Matthew 6:24)
Giving is a worshipful act of obedience of returning to God what He has provided. Believers utilize earthly possessions as investments in God's Kingdom. Giving reflects the gratitude for what God has provided, and helps deepen relationships with Him.
  4. God Is Watching Our Giving (Romans 14:12; Nehemiah 1:4-11)
Giving becomes a tool to advance His work on earth and to give the opportunity to recognize that it is through the work of the Holy Spirit that people are prompted to give.
  5. God Is The Chief Fundraiser (II Corinthians 9:7; I Chronicles 29:9)
God instills passion in the giver and moves the spirit of the believer to give to His mission at LETU. When Christ-centered opportunities are presented for consideration, it is always with the giver's relationship to God in mind, above our agenda (II Corinthians 4:16-18).

LeTourneau University's Philosophy of Fundraising

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)

Our founder's life verse continues to define our attitude about fundraising and our passion for being salt and light in every workplace and in every nation. Above all, an eternal kingdom perspective dominates all we do at LETU. Every opportunity for giving that is presented, every need of the University provides an opportunity for God to transform us into the likeness of Christ.

We believe that in God's time He will supply all of our needs as we strive to honor Him in a God-centered way as He changes hearts through joy-filled giving. (Philippians 4:19)

A Note from the Chancellor

Dear Friend,

bio-lunsford.jpgWe are unapologetically Christ-centered. We strive to be the best academic Christian university in the nation. Our graduates are successful professionals, missionaries and agents of change using the gifts and passions given by God, with skills they obtained from their LETU experience to impact the world in Jesus' name.

How can we be deliberately different and produce outstanding citizens of God's Kingdom? Because of the prayer and financial support of alumni, parents and friends.

We are so thankful for the many alumni, parents and friends who make it possible for students to attend LeTourneau with their financial support and their prayers.

Each year, LETU students depend on generous donors who give selflessly to help offset tuition (and keep the debt load of graduating seniors to a minimum), and ensure that we can meet the needs of more than 90% of students who depend on scholarship assistance. Gifts to the LETU Annual Fund, setting up personal endowments, and choosing LeTourneau as a beneficiary of your estate are among the ways alumni, parents and friends of LETU are making a difference.

By investing in LETU students and the mission of LeTourneau, you join with us to impact the world for Christ. It is the legacy of founder R.G. and Evelyn LeTourneau, and it is your legacy, too.

We ask that you prayerfully consider supporting LeTourneau financially by joining as a member of the 1946 Society or President's Circle, set up an endowed scholarship, create a long-term plan via your estate, give by shopping, or support student projects. However you choose to engage financially with LETU, we thank you.

For His glory,

Dale A. Lunsford, Ph.D.
Chancellor
