Bio Info

Dr. Schools has over 10 years of experience working in the sport and fitness field serving as a sport and recreation coordinator, associate athletic director of student-athlete development, and as a professor. Her research includes coach care, student-athlete welfare, the integration of sport and religion, and her dissertation topic focused on the effects of stereotypes on student-athlete academic performance. Here at LeTourneau University, Dr. Schools leads the Virtual Reality Research Program which focuses on the use of technology in sport performance training.While she teaches in many of the sub-disciplines within the kinesiology department, Dr. Schools specializes in sport psychology and mental performance. She works with many of our athletic teams here at LETU as a mental performance coach and is passionate about helping athletes reach their goals while gaining confidence and focus.When she is not teaching or doing research, you can find her watching sports, drinking coffee, or picking out the next pair of sneakers she wants to own.  Dr. Schools loves to travel and often spends her summers on mission trips to India, which is where she grew up as a missionary kid.
