What first drew you to LeTourneau?
I was first drawn to LeTourneau because of its reputation for providing top-notch academic programs centered in a distinctly Christian environment. I loved the prospect of learning in a smaller classroom environment that allows lasting and meaningful connections with faculty and staff. I knew LETU was the place I wanted to be after my first campus visit. From the chapel service I attended and the night I was able to spend with current students, I could easily see the way LeTourneau is living out its mission to keep Christ at the center.

What is important about Christian higher education?
There are so many universities today that divorce faith and learning—approaching academics and science as fields that are distinct from, or even hostile towards, Christianity. It is important to have Christ-centered academic institutions like LeTourneau that help students realize the congruency and continuity between faith, science, learning, and the workplace. This type of learning is a powerful force that helps students think about how to center their work, life, and education around living faithfully in step with God’s calling.

In what ways is LeTourneau preparing you for your desired vocation?
As a History-Political Science major here at LETU, I have had opportunities to work closely with professors in my field—whether through independent research projects or through drafting and designing historical exhibits for display throughout the local community. These experiences have given me the chance to collaborate with faculty from history, English, engineering, business, and theology. These experiences, and others like them, have helped me develop skills in leadership, research, public speaking, event planning, and cross-disciplinary collaboration—to name a few!

What would you say about LeTourneau community?
The relationships I have formed here at LETU are undoubtedly the best part of my experience. The love and commitment displayed by both students and faculty within this community is incredible. I have really appreciated the way that the faculty’s heart for students along with the smaller classrooms have allowed me to build meaningful and close friendships with professors who have so much to offer—whether through professional teaching and counsel within my specific field, or through mentorship.

Words to a current high school student?
Come! LeTourneau University offers the opportunity to experience and invest in a community that is unlike any other. Apart from the top-notch education that LETU provides, you will find students and professors who will pour into your life—supporting you not only in your academic journey but also in your life after college. I can’t say enough good things about the LETU community. Whether you’re seeking a high-quality education, award-winning technical training, an institution centered around Christ, or a community with incredible people, LeTourneau could be the place for you!
