Greetings! My name is Jesse Joyner and I get to teach students about the Bible, Ministry, and how to discern God's callings upon their lives, no matter their field of work. I call myself an "East Coast kid", having spent my childhood years in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. I grew up a pastor's kid (a "PK") and wanted to be anything but a pastor in life. But when I was in high school, I sensed a deep call in my heart to serve in some form of pastoral ministry. At the time, I did not know what that meant. But over the years, the Lord unfolded a path that allowed me to use my love of juggling and circus performing to travel and teach the Bible to children and youth all over the world. Along the way, I served as the Children’s Pastor at two different churches (one in Kentucky, the other in Virginia). Then I transitioned to full time speaking and traveling with For His Kids, a collective of Christian entertainers who provide creative ministry programs for youth and family outreaches at churches, camps, and schools across the nation and abroad (www.JesseJoyner.com). Before coming to LeTourneau, I taught Bible and Christian Ministries at Ascent College in Virginia, where I served as the Dean of the Children and Family Ministries program. I co-host the podcast Holy Fools and the Soul of Craftwork, where my colleague Steve Grosz and I interview guests about the integration of their faith and work (https://holyfools.podbean.com/). I am juggling and unicycle enthusiast and I love to find ways to use those gifts in my teaching and preaching.
