Criteria for "Readiness to Test"

In order for us to approve a candidate to take the state TExES exams, candidates must meet the “readiness to test” requirements.  Those include:

  1. Complete EDUC 4002 OR EDUC 4963.
  2. Successful completion of the LETU practice examination.

Candidates who are not successful on the state exam must complete a “Test Analysis” and remediation prior to being eligible to retest.

Testing Retake Limits:  Each candidate can only be give four (4) retest approvals of that same TExES exam.  After the fourth retest (five total attempts), candidates must seek approval to retest directly from the Texas Education Agency per state requirements.  Information on that process is available from the Director of Educator Certification.
