Choral Performance Tour to Italy 2022

From June 3 to June 12, 2022 Director of Fine Arts and Associate Professor of Music Dr. Jim Taylor will lead a group of LETU students and singers from across the country to perform and tour historic sites in Italy. He will conduct, and participants will sing, his new choral/orchestral work, Cambridge Songs Suite No. 4, on Monday, June 6 at the Basilica di Santa Croce in Florence with the Orchestra da Camera Florentina. In the days following there will be more concerts and tours of the great museums and cities of Florence, Verona, Venice and Lake Garda.

LeTourneau University students may earn academic credit on this trip by registering for it under Fine Arts Special Projects in a course that will include the choral rehearsals and performance, a study of great Italian composers, the role of Italy in the history of Western music, art in the Italian Renaissance, and the artistic masterworks in the museums of Florence. Mr. Budd Dunn, art instructor at LETU, will be on the trip and guide students in the study.

Donations to enable students to participate are much appreciated, and will be matched by a generous donor. The donation goal is $20,000. All donations are tax-deductible. Thank you so much for your support of this project. For more information, please contact Dr. Taylor at or (903) 233-3379.
