Tom has a desire to help students like himself—students who work hard in their courses but may not be at the top of their academic class. These resilient students often go on to have great careers, just as Tom did. Today, he flies the Boeing 777 as a pilot for American Airlines.
Through the I Just Want to Fly Endowed Scholarship, Tom hopes to offer encouragement and support to aviation students who continue working toward their goals with determination and perseverance.
Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for the I Just Want to Fly Endowed Scholarship, candidates must:
- Be a full-time, regularly enrolled student with freshman standing or above.
- Be enrolled as an aviation student in the flight program.
- Have a cumulative GPA between 2.0 and 3.0.
- Financial need is not a qualifying criterion.
