The Solheim Recreation and Activity Center is LeTourneau University's hub for its 13 men's and women's NCAA Division III athletic teams as well as intramural sports.

Students may check out sports equipment from the equipment room free of charge, and they have full access to the Center which includes:


The Solheim Center gives access to a wide range of exercise spaces and equipment, including:

  • Treadmills, stationary bikes & ellipticals
  • Strength training machines
  • Free weight and Nautilus room
  • Aerobics/Martial arts room
  • Indoor running track


  • Waveless Swimming Pool
  • Sand Volleyball Courts
  • Racquetball Courts
  • Lighted Tennis Courts
  • Two Gymnasiums




Free fitness classes are available to all LETU students. Faculty, staff and guests may attend for a small fee. (Punch cards are available for purchase from the Solheim Center front desk: 1 class $3, 10 classes $30, 20 classes $50, 30 classes $70)

Available classes include (click link above for schedule):

  • Applied Self-Defense: 1-hour class encompassing a variety of public safety issues. Participants will be taught techniques and strategies to combat real-life violence in a safe, controlled environment.
  • Body Combat: high-energy, martial arts-inspired workout that is totally non-contact. No experience needed. Learn moves from Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing, Muay Thai, Capoeira and Kung Fu.
  • Body Pump: the original barbell workout that will sculpt, tone, and strengthen your entire body, fast! Body Pump is one of the world's fastest ways to get in shape as it challenges all of your major muscle groups while you squat, press, lift, and curl.
  • Circuit Bootcamp: a fun, 30-minute HIIT and strength training workout that allows you to move at your own pace through stations set up for a total body workout. Challenging, but with modifications for every move and fitness level.
  • Hope Yoga: a safe place to calm and connect yourself with the Lord. Focus on worship through the movement and training of your body. 100% Jesus 100% yoga!
  • Learn to Swing Dance: Learn 3 different styles of swing in the form of East Coast, Lindy Hop, and Charleston! We teach you how to combine the dances, so you can have fun swinging to the oldies, big band, and today's music. No partner required because we rotate. Please wear flat or tennis shoes - no heels!  A swing dance social immediately follows class to practice your skills.
  • Power Flow Yoga: a more intense form of yoga for tone, strength, and balance. All fitness levels welcome!
  • Pump & Shred: a combination of the popular Les Mills Body Combat and Body Pump in a 60 minute total-body blast. 30 minutes of Combat followed by 30 minutes of Pump.
  • Rise: a workout that contains high intensity interval training, more commonly known at HIIT. During this time, we will focus on raising heart rates while incorporating strength and conditioning to increase fitness fast!
  • Solid Fitness Crunch: a class that uses many training strategies such as high-intensity intervals, multi-joint resistance exercises, dynamic moves, and plyo-metrics. Participants will move through different stations, pushing and competing with their fellow classmates to get a big calorie burn. Free weights, bands, benches are all included in the workout. Class suits 8-12 people. First come first serve basis.
  • Sports Yoga: builds endurance, strength, and balance and lowers the risk of injury for athletes or anyone who needs strength and flexibility training.
  • Water Aerobics: this water workout includes a high intensity aerobic segment followed by strength, toning, and stretching in the water.
  • Zumba: fuses Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow dance moves to create a dynamic cardiovascular workout system that will blow you away. The motivating Latin and International music is inspired by cumbia, salsa and merengue.
