Mail Center

The LeTourneau University Mail Center is here to provide mail and package pick-up and delivery and other related services to support the needs of the entire LeTourneau University community. Our primary purpose is to provide our students with timely mail and package delivery, while providing a place for them to send mail and ship packages as well. We also seek to accommodate faculty and staff shipping requirements and limited personal services as time allows.

We are committed to ensuring a friendly customer service experience in a timely manner. We strive to maintain a professional attitude focused on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. We are always looking for ways to expand and improve our services to better meet the needs of our students. Our goal is to see the big picture and have the best solution at the lowest cost for the good of the university as a whole.

FORWARDING NOTES

  • Summer forwarding automatically stops two weeks before school starts in August. If you return before this time let us know.
  • The mail center cannot provide Christmas break forwarding as forwarding can take up to five weeks to deliver. Please plan ahead and have packages and mail that you desperately need sent to the proper addresses.
  • Forwarding guidelines:
    • Most USPS first class mail can be forwarded.
    • Magazines or packages cannot be forwarded to international addresses.
    • FedEx and UPS packages cannot be forwarded. The Mail Center will make every effort to contact the recipient when such packages arrive. Payment is required to send the packages to a different address.
    • Mail will be forwarded for one year after the student has left.
    • To save time, please notify all correspondents of your new mailing address.
    • Faculty and Staff leaving the University must leave their forwarding addresses with their department. Anything coming to the university addressed to a former employee that is university business should be given to their replacement.

When sending packages, a Mail Center Shipping form must be submitted with each package.

CENTRAL AND EAST TEXAS COST SAVING OPTION

Packages sent from the Longview campus via UPS and FedEx "Ground" to Dallas, Houston, or Austin are guaranteed to arrive in one day. Therefore, overnight fees are not necessary for these locations and their immediate surroundings. Feel free to contact the mail center to ensure your destination falls into this "guaranteed" category.

A handling charge of $1 will be added to each package to cover daily carrier service fees and other carrier adjustments.

Track packages online:

Unfortunately, due to current Homeland Security Postal Regulations, the LeTourneau Mail Center is unable to accept packages for shipping through USPS that weigh more than thirteen ounces. The other carriers have no such regulation.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE ADDRESSING FORMAT BELOW FOR PACKAGES AND LETTERS:

For UPS, FedEx, and other carriers use:

The LeTourneau University Mail Center is here to provide you with mail and package pick-up and delivery and other related services. Before you arrive, we will assign you a CPO box that will be yours for the entire time you reside at LeTourneau University. You can find this box assignment and your combination on your MyLETU page under housing information.

You may begin ordering your books or other items you need and have them sent here. They will be waiting for you when you arrive.

Please ensure your full name is on all mail and packages received. We receive many packages that simply say LeTourneau University. We serve over 2000 people at LETU and will not know who the package is for if your name is not on it.

Please also ensure that your CPO # is on any mail received. We often have people with the same first and last name and we want to ensure you receive your mail.

Fed Ex and UPS will not deliver to a PO Box so please make sure you use the physical address if you are unsure of shipper used.

HOURS OF OPERATION

We are open Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. We close on M, W & F from 10:45 to 11:30 for chapel. We are closed weekends and on all campus holidays.

We will be open the weekend before classes start (orientation weekend) during limited hours for you to pick up any linens or books that have already been delivered to the university.

MAIL DELIVERY TO YOUR CPO BOX

Mail is delivered to LETU's post office box at the post office down the street. We pick up all mail and packages that come through the Postal Service at 8:00 am Monday through Friday. We then sort the mail and check in packages. Your mail should be in your CPO box around 11:00 each morning and package slips will be placed in your box depending on when the packages are finished being checked in. We have 3 FedEx, 1 UPS and DHL deliveries that arrive at various times each day. We sign for all packages so we must check them into our computer system and then you must sign for them to pick them up. We process these as quickly as possible with USPS being processed first, followed by the other carriers in the order they arrive. You MUST have your package slip in your CPO to pick up your package. We are unable to find a package until it has been fully processed.

We do not notify you by e-mail that you have a package unless it is perishable. You will need to check your CPO box at least 2 or 3 times a week as you will receive things from the University, as well as any mail that is sent from outside sources.

Mail received through the post office is delayed by one day. If an e-mail or online tracking says your package shipped by USPS has been delivered, that means the post office has it and we will pick it up the next morning.

Please inform people who need to send you something overnight to use FedEx or UPS as you will not receive an overnight package from the post office for an additional day.

OTHER SERVICES PROVIDED

Envelopes and stamps are available for purchase at the mail center. You can ship most packages through the US Postal Service or by FedEx at the mail center as well, but we cannot ship packages to international addresses - those will need to be taken to the nearest post office or FedEx office.

We do not sell boxes at the mail center, nor do we package your shipment, but we have packing tape available. We do carry some USPS flat rate boxes and FedEx envelopes and boxes that can be used for express shipments.

We also serve as a FedEx drop off location. You may drop prepaid FedEx packages here.

UPS picks up here as well, but not every day. You may bring your prepaid UPS package here, but it may be several days before it is picked up.

We also have copy services, fax services, and scanning available. Please see the print shop website for copy and print service information.
