POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Purchasing Agent will be responsible for the procurement of a wide variety of commodities, materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the University. Resolves procurement problems of a routine nature.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA or BS and three years of demonstrated ability in purchasing, including source selection, taking bids and awarding orders or making award recommendations. Accounting and/or accounts payable experience preferred. Employees in this classification may have supervisory authority. 

Microsoft Excel skills, i.e. knowledge of basic formatting and creating basic formulas.
Fluent in Microsoft Office, internet software, and Outlook.
Knowledge of SAP Concur a plus.
Excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
Ability to follow-through and react quickly to situations.
Demonstrated ability to monitor important and complex projects concurrently.
Ability to maintain policies and procedures at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work in a team environment to meet institutional goals.
Excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
