POSITION SUMMARY LeTourneau University seeks a mission-driven and results-oriented Director of Admissions to provide strategic and operational leadership for undergraduate admissions operations and enrollment growth initiatives. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Admissions, the Director of Admissions leads the day-to-day management of the admissions counseling team while advancing institutional enrollment goals through relationship-centered recruitment strategies, data-informed decision-making, and exceptional service to prospective students and families. The Director will play a key leadership role in strengthening partnerships with Athletics, Student Financial Services, and campus visit operations to create a seamless enrollment experience from inquiry through matriculation. This position is especially focused on helping students and families understand the value of a LeTourneau education through clear communication regarding affordability, financial aid, and return on investment. As a senior member of the admissions leadership team, the Director contributes to the university’s mission of developing Christian servant leaders while supporting LeTourneau’s distinct identity as The Christian Polytechnic University.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Admissions Leadership & Team Supervision • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for admissions counselors and other assigned admissions staff. • Establish team goals, territory expectations, communication standards, and performance metrics aligned with enrollment objectives. • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development efforts for counseling staff. • Foster a Christ-centered team culture marked by excellence, accountability, collaboration, and servant leadership. • Support staff effectiveness in relationship-building, consultative admissions conversations, and funnel progression strategies.
Enrollment Strategy & Funnel Management • Lead execution of undergraduate recruitment and yield strategies that increase applications, deposits, and enrolled students. • Monitor territory performance, counselor activity, and funnel conversion data to identify trends and opportunities. • Develop initiatives to strengthen application completion, admitted student engagement, and summer melt prevention. • Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President to implement annual enrollment plans and strategic growth priorities.
Financial Aid & Value Communication • Serve as a primary admissions leader in communicating affordability, scholarships, and financial aid processes to students and families. • Partner closely with Student Financial Services to align awarding strategies, communication timelines, and enrollment outcomes. • Train admissions counselors to confidently discuss aid packages, cost comparisons, financing options, and student value outcomes. • Help families understand the long-term value and return on investment of a LeTourneau education. • Utilize data-informed yield strategies and collaborate regularly with the university’s Ruffalo Noel Levitz consultant through weekly strategy calls and an annual campus visit to strengthen enrollment planning, financial aid messaging, and conversion outcomes.
Athletics Partnership • Serve as the primary admissions relationship manager with university Athletics leadership and coaching staff. • Collaborate with coaches to support recruitment pipelines, application movement, and enrollment conversion for student-athletes. • Ensure athletic prospects receive timely guidance regarding admissions requirements, aid processes, and enrollment steps. • Promote strong communication and coordinated service between Admissions and Athletics.
Visit Experience & Campus Engagement • Maintain strong collaboration with the Assistant Director of Hospitality and Enrollment Visits to align visit programming with recruitment and yield goals. • Support campus visit strategy, event execution, and prospective student hospitality experiences. • Partner on preview days, admitted student events, scholarship programs, and individual visit experiences that drive enrollment decisions.
Data, Systems & Operational Excellence • Utilize CRM systems, dashboards, and reporting tools to guide strategy and improve counselor effectiveness. • Ensure timely follow-up, communication flow execution, and high-quality prospective student engagement. • Assist with admissions policy implementation, file review workflows, and process improvement initiatives. • Promote efficient operations and a student-centered service model throughout the admissions office.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Success in this role will be demonstrated through meaningful contributions to undergraduate enrollment growth, improved funnel conversion rates, and effective leadership of the admissions counseling team.
The Director of Admissions is expected to strengthen collaboration with Athletics, Student Financial Services, and visit operations while ensuring prospective students experience exceptional communication and personalized guidance. The Director of Admissions will also be evaluated on staff development, operational efficiency, data informed leadership, and the ability to cultivate a welcoming admissions culture reflective of LeTourneau University’s mission and values. |
| QUALIFICATIONS: |
• Demonstrated and vibrant Christian faith with commitment to LeTourneau University’s mission and statement of faith. • Master’s degree required. • Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in admissions, enrollment management, higher education recruitment, or related field. • Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. • Strong understanding of financial aid processes, scholarship strategy, and college affordability conversations. • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across departments, especially Athletics and Financial Aid. • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to motivate teams, manage multiple priorities, and achieve measurable goals. |
