SCHEDULE: Full-time position, weekdays between 8am and 5pm.  Occasional overtime and weekends may be required.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:

LeTourneau University is seeking an organized and efficient Accounting Clerk with an eye for detail and accuracy to join our team.  This position is entry to mid-level with room for growth and learning.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Prepare and enter journal entries into accounting software
  • Assist with month end close process
  • Assist with employee credit card expense program in Concur
  • Assist A/P with in-house accounts payable payments and act as back-up for the Accounts Payable staff
  • Assist with monthly and annual reporting including IRS and other Tax/Govt filings which may include form 1099, 941, stale dated checks and unclaimed property reports, and other filings as needed
  • Distribute incoming mail and e-mail to accounting staff
  • Assist with year-end close and audit
  • Check for accuracy in reports, figures, and postings
  • Provide prompt assistance to other accountants and departments as needed or requested.
  • Other general accounting duties and special projects as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Accounting/bookkeeping and/or accounts payable clerk experience preferred
  • Associates or college degree preferred
  • Ability to use a computer and knowledge of standard and specific business applications, such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), computerized accounting, and ability to learn new software applications.
  • Quick learner and able to respond well to multi-task environment
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to work well both individually and in a team environment to meet institutional goals
  • Well organized and strong ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and dedicated individual with personal and professional integrity
SALARY: Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience and other qualifications.
