POSITION DESCRIPTION:

LeTourneau University invites applications for the Director of the Center for Academic Ministry (CAM), an 11-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor. The Center for Academic Ministry exists to empower faculty and staff to shepherd students in faith integration and spiritual formation for the sake of the church and the world. Backed by a significant endowment, this center supports the university’s mission of nurturing Christian virtue and cultivating faith integration that impacts all areas of students’ lives. While the position reports within the School of Theology and Vocation, the candidate’s primary discipline and terminal degree may be within any academic field represented at LeTourneau University.

The Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and strategically leading programs that foster faith integration and spiritual formation across the academic and co-curricular life of the institution. This role collaborates closely with faculty, staff, academic schools, and campus partners to cultivate a robust culture of faithful and reflective academic ministry that is grounded in LeTourneau’s Theology and Vocation Core curriculum, pedagogical excellence, and holistic care for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead faculty development and faith-integration training programs
  • Facilitate seminars, reading groups, and interdisciplinary learning communities
  • Direct the Koinonia Institute faculty and staff retreats
  • Assess and strengthen faith-integration efforts across academic and student-facing programs
  • Develop certificate and credentialing opportunities in academic ministry
  • Oversee CAM communications, digital resources, and website content
  • Foster mentorship networks and learning communities for faculty and staff
  • Manage CAM strategic planning, budgeting, partnerships, and institutional engagement
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in a relevant field; formal theological education preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in faith integration, Christian higher education, and academic ministry
  • Strong teaching, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Experience designing and leading faculty development and/or spiritual formation programs
  • Ability to assess program effectiveness and communicate results effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Christian higher education leadership or academic administration
  • Scholarly engagement in faith integration, Christian theology, vocation, pedagogy, or related themes
  • Experience directing retreats or spiritual formation initiatives
  • Familiarity with web content management and digital resource development
