SCHEDULE:

The position is for nine months. Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily weekdays but may include some evening classes and independent studies. Attendance may also be required at some evening and weekend events.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

LeTourneau University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Christian Ministry, with a specialization in Youth Ministry, Practical Ministry, or Missions and Cross-Cultural Studies beginning Fall 2026. We seek a dynamic, teacher-practitioner-scholar who is passionate about equipping students for faithful ministry in diverse contexts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A deep commitment to the vision, mission, and statement of faith of LeTourneau University.
  • The ability to integrate theology and biblical studies scholarship with practical ministry training, especially Trinitarian and narrative accounts of Scriptural engagement and spiritual formation.
  • A passion for helping both majors as well as non-majors to discern their vocation in light of God’s mission in and for the church and the world.
  • A record of effective teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate level.
  • Scholarly achievement or potential in their area of expertise.
  • The capability of contributing meaningfully to the strategic initiatives of the School of Theology and Vocation, especially the Passage Institute for Youth and Theology, the Faith, Science, and Technology Initiative, and/or the Center for Academic Ministry.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a faculty member in the School of Theology and Vocation
  • Maintains excellence in classroom teaching and promotes creative and strong pedagogical practices within the course curriculum.
  • Participates actively in the University learning community by serving on school and/or university committees and special service assignments.
  • Provides leadership, support, and advocacy of school initiatives in concert with the mission and academic culture of LeTourneau University.
  • Contributes to the strategic vision of the university, especially with respect to the discussion regarding faith integration and spiritual formation in a technological age.
  • Actively engages in student mentoring, advising, program development, and aids recruiting efforts.
  • Maintains a strong scholarly agenda to exemplify academic engagement and currency in the field.
  • Actively invests in a local church body and ministry activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A doctorate (Ph.D. strongly preferred) in Practical Ministry, Youth Ministry, Missions and Cross-Cultural Studies, or related relevant fields.
  • Experience in pastoral leadership/care, youth ministry, or mission and cross-cultural engagement.
  • The ability to teach our Theology and Vocation Core classes (Biblical Literature and Biblical Theology for the Christian Life), Christian Ministry courses, Christian Missions courses, upper-level Bible and/or Theology courses, or some combination of these.
