SCHEDULE: | The position is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position for fall and spring semesters, with the possibility of summer school and online teaching. Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily weekdays but may include evening classes, independent studies, or online responsibilities. Attendance will also be required at some evening and weekend events. |
POSITION DESCRIPTION: | Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, performing and disseminating scholarship, innovative curriculum development, advising students, and serving on university committees. Teaching duties may encompass the full range of Mechanical Engineering topics as well as laboratory instruction. |
QUALIFICATIONS: | The School of Engineering and Engineering Technology at LeTourneau University, Longview, TX invites applications from individuals with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith for a tenure-track position in Mechanical Engineering beginning in the Fall of 2026. The candidate must also be in genuine agreement with the University’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant for life and work at LeTourneau.
Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate engineering education including laboratory instruction. This position will include instruction of undergraduate and graduate students in classroom and laboratory settings. Desired areas of expertise include solid mechanics, control systems, machine design, and thermal-fluid systems. Of special interest are candidates with the ability to teach instrumentation and experimentation in a laboratory setting as well as a willingness to teach Mechanical Engineering topics in their area of expertise. Candidates must hold a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution and a Ph.D. in a closely related field. Industrial experience and foreign missions service are highly desirable. Successful candidates will demonstrate evidence of outstanding potential in undergraduate teaching.
