LONGVIEW, Texas — Sept. 25, 2026 — LeTourneau University welcomed prospective students and their families to campus Friday for its fall 
YellowJacket Preview, giving the next generation of The Christian Polytechnic University a firsthand look at the academics, faith and community they could soon call their own.
Visitors met faculty and current students, attended academic overviews and chapel, toured campus, and heard from the university's admissions, financial aid and student life teams.
LeTourneau President Steven D. Mason, Ph.D., opened the day by describing what it means to be a
polytechnic university. Technology shapes every field, he said, from engineering to Old Testament studies, so LeTourneau asks students in every discipline to consider what it means for their calling.
"We're polytechnic in that way, where we're asking across the board: What role does technology have in this world? What does it mean for us as Christians who want to honor the Lord in every way? How does this bear upon our calling and our profession?" Mason said.
Mason told families that LeTourneau students don't have to separate STEM from the liberal arts and humanities, because each is integral to the other.
He also highlighted the growth visitors will see across campus. The Athletic 
& Human Performance Air Dome, dedicated in August, features a 200-meter NCAA competition-level hydraulic banked track alongside academic space for the Human Performance and Sport Studies program. The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity, a leading Christian voice in bioethics for more than 30 years, joined LeTourneau in January.
The Abbott Aviation Center is expanding to meet student demand, and construction continues on the four-story, 100,000-square-foot Christian Polytechnic University Center. When it opens for fall 2028 classes, the center will house the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology, the School of Business, the Department of Computer Science and the Center for Academic Ministry.
Mason closed with a message for the students who will write the university's next chapter.
"We need you. You will make LeTourneau University a better place. We've never had your gifts. We've never had your experience, your passion, your faith and your vision for what you might want to do to serve the Lord, to serve his people and to serve the world," he said.
