I was born and raised in East Texas, and I'm a big fan of the area! I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a student at LeTourneau, and it is a great joy to continue participating in the mission of LeTourneau by walking alongside prospective students. In my free time, I enjoy running, a quality cup of coffee, and reading.

What drew you to serve at LeTourneau University, and how do you see God working in the lives of students here?

I believe in the mission of Christian higher education, and I believe LeTourneau is doing amazing things in this space. As a student at LeTourneau, God used the people here to shape and refine my calling. Now I have the privilege of watching God do this very thing in the lives of prospective and current students. It is a beautiful thing to witness the light bulb moment when students realize how God works through each of their respective academic disciplines.

What do you love most about walking alongside students as they discover their calling and prepare for the future?

I love getting to hear what God is already doing in the lives of students. It is so edifying for me to see that God has built students for a specific purpose in which they will flourish!

How has your own college or faith journey shaped the way you guide students today?

When I began college, I had a detailed plan for my life, but a couple of years in God redirected these plans. (I am so thankful He did!) My encouragement to students is to always have a plan, but also hold it loosely in surrender to God, knowing that His plan will prevail.

What advice would you give a student who is nervous about stepping into this next season of life?

The nerves that you feel around your college decision are not a bad thing. Your nerves are a reminder to slow down and seek the counsel of God. Psalm 32:8 (ESV) says, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you."

In your view, what makes the LeTourneau community special, and why should students feel excited about joining it?

"Authentic" is the word I often used to describe LeTourneau. There is a deep authenticity behind the mission at LeTourneau that resides in each person. As a future student, you should be excited to know that you will be deeply cared for, challenged, and spurred on toward Christ. On a less serious note, LeTourneau is one of the most fun places you will ever experience!
