We welcome transfer students in both the fall and spring semesters and are committed to your success from step one.

To ease your transition, our academic programs contain flexibility to help customize your degree completion plan. Participation in the Texas Common Course numbering system and consideration of credit by examination help to expedite your transfer process and time-to-graduation. And as a part of our commitment to college affordability, qualifying applicants are also eligible for a recurring annual transfer scholarship. Over 90% of LETU students receive some form of financial aid.

Step by Step

The first few steps regarding how to transfer colleges involve the key questions on your mind as a transfer student: What will transfer? How long will it take? How much will it cost? Our transfer admissions counselor will work with you to determine:

  • Which of your college credits will transfer from previous institutions. A transfer evaluation will be completed by the University Registrar's Office upon receiving your application and official transcripts from any college(s) you've attended.
  • The time frame in which you will be able to complete your degree, based on a preliminary degree audit.
  • Personalized financial aid and award information, including transfer scholarship eligibility (based on your cumulative GPA). All financial aid information is contingent upon the filing of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

The sooner you submit the three primary documents needed by any college enrollment office (the application, official transcripts and your FAFSA) the sooner you'll learn the answers to most important questions on your mind when considering how and where to transfer.

It is our aim to take the mystery out of how to transfer colleges and then assure you don't miss a beat on the path toward graduation.
