In our “Blueprint for Building,” the list of priorities and projects to take LeTourneau to the next level of influence and excellence, we initially proposed a bold target of $156 million. That was about five times the size of the university’s largest previous campaign. But by the time we took the campaign public in October 2024, God had already blessed us with $102 million in gifts and commitments, laying the foundation for a campaign goal of $180 million and a fuller realization of a vision for a more impactful LeTourneau than ever before.
I’m thrilled to let you know that, with gifts and commitments, our total now stands over $160 million, a number that seemed humanly impossible just a few years ago. I cannot express how humbling it’s been to see the generosity of so many to LeTourneau University. The excitement of people to participate has overwhelmed me and stretched my faith.
Thank you! But our work isn’t done; God is still building. There are still a number of vital projects that will help anchor LeTourneau even more deeply in its Christian identity, provide premier academic experiences, and keep a LeTourneau education accessible for our students. Thank God with us for the ways God has provided beyond what we asked or even imagined. And join us in asking God to continue to bless us and further LeTourneau’s mission through this Build with Purpose Campaign.
Because of the incredible progress in the campaign, this week we will be able to break ground on a major expansion to LeTourneau’s airport campus, the Paul and Betty Abbott Aviation Center. New labs and classrooms, a large new hangar lab, covered aircraft parking, and student experience areas will elevate this facility to the top tier of aviation education facilities in the country. The gifts and commitments received so far give us the confidence to start work on this project, providing desperately needed additional space for our students, but we’re continuing to raise funds to bring the project to completion.
The cornerstone of the Build with Purpose Campaign will be a transformative 100,000 sq-ft academic building housing Engineering, Business, and entrepreneurship, along with other academic spaces. Even as we continue to raise funds for this major project, we have set a groundbreaking date for Friday, April 17, 2026. That will bring the building online for the start of the 2028–29 academic year, providing innovative, premier lab experiences for students in a range of academic fields. Praise God for the progress to date, and please continue to pray with us for this important project!
Thank you so much for your support and belief in LeTourneau University. Join us in thanking God for his extraordinary blessings as we strive to prepare exceptional graduates to be Christ’s hands and feet in a world that desperately needs Him.
