Schedule: Office hours are primarily weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm. Responsibilities occasionally require additional hours and flexibility that can include evenings and weekends.


Position Description:

  • Arranges disposition of technology across the university
  • Works with hardware and software vendors to verify timely product delivery and ensures that new equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule
  • Maintains an inventory of installed software, manages software licensing, and creates policies and procedures for upgrades
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations for hardware and software standardization
  • Resolves escalated user issues.
  • Identifies recurring user problems and looks for solutions
  • Answers technical support questions
  • Manages in-house computer systems
  • Processes Work Order queues
  • Reports on technology functionality and asset age across the university
  • Manages a wiki/OneNote for knowledge transfer and training
  • Coordinates recurring projects like the annual Dell Employee Purchase Plan, Career Fair, IT Yard Sale, new student orientations, etc.
  • Participates in special projects involving technology upgrades, transfers, and removals from remote campuses
  • Initiates remote campus visits semi-annually, or as needed, to make sure remote users’ technology needs are met
  • Manages to recycle of retired technology assets
  • Coordinates renewal of campus software licensing, including software renewal, user inventory, and departmental billing
  • Responsible for LETU strategic technology goals as they relate to USE
  • Responsible as the liaison between Network and Business Systems Management teams, including, but not limited to, new software or hardware brought into LETU and new infrastructure presented, including ensuring any KB or FAQ and training are provided to these teams.
  • Responsible as liaison with CDT, including, but not limited to, providing technology for LETU faculty and degree program technology needs.
  • Responsible for the work order tracking and negotiating, writing, and reporting on internal and external Service Level Agreements for USE
  • Responsible for keeping the Director of USE up to date on important LETU changes and decisions
  • Responsible for keeping policy and procedures up to date as they relate to USE
  • Responsible for managing all technology purchasing projects and project timeline for systems, programs, and services provided
  • Responsible for communicating to specific departments around LETU concerning technology and services provided by USE; this includes but is not limited to proactive and regular communication with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Works with AV Technology and Help Desk Coordinators to manage the replacement of computers for Learning Spaces such as classrooms and conference rooms and replacement cycles, kiosks, student workers, etc.
  • Responsible for keeping the Replacement Cycle budget balanced and related systems and services providing the best value for money spent
  • Provides thorough documentation concerning processes and procedures provided by the TLC position
  • Provides guidance and direction concerning the LetNet policies, including but not limited to those policies as they relate to Faculty, Staff, and Students and their interaction with technology
  • Responsible for monitoring Purchasing response times, evaluating user satisfaction levels, and making recommendations for improvement

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or a minimum of five years of field experience.

As a full-time staff member of User Support and Engagement (USE), this position reflects the department’s Director, the IT department, the CIO, and, most importantly, Christ in the service IT offers to LETU. This person must reflect His character and the vision and goals of IT and LETU.

SALARY: Up to $ 40,000.00
