SCHEDULE:

Hours will typically be from 25 to 29 hours per week. Hours will be varied, but will mostly be 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, and may on some occasions need to work later.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  1. Assist with Mail Center daily activities to include, but not limited to:
    • Pick up and/or Drop off mail at the Post Office.
    • Sorting and distribution of incoming / outgoing mail to both student and university offices
    • Delivering mail on the campus interdepartmental mail run.
    • Receiving, scanning and delivering parcels at mail center window and around campus.
    • Process outgoing university mail using postage metering machine and FedEx webtools.
    • Customer service including interacting at mail center window (selling stamps, using cash register, sending faxes, and delivering parcels).
    • General clean-up and organization.
    • Assist mail center manager with campus post office box upkeep.
    • Will operate a golf cart on a regular basis.
    1. Assist with Print shop daily activities to include, but not limited to:
    •  
    • Receiving and completing Print Shop job requests (sent by phone, email and attachments, or in person.)
    • Efficiently and safely operate various Print Shop machines, (i.e. copiers, shrink wrapper, spiral binder, paper cutter, folder, laminator, pad assembly and gluing, etc.)
    • Discuss print job requirements with customers to ensure proficiency and quality
    • Layout work and adjustments will be required
    • Assist in preparing a monthly Excel spread sheet of print shop and copier logs and calculate departmental charges.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Must have a high school diploma, driver’s license, and a good driving record. Must be 21 or over.
  2. Must be highly detailed oriented especially with print shop work.
  3. Printer/copier experience helpful (but not required), will require comfort and competency in the use and operation of copiers, shrink wrapper, spiral binder, paper cutter, folder, laminator, pad assembly and gluing, etc.
  4. Basic clerical and PC skills – filing and organization skills, usage of email and transferring files electronically into print jobs. Some proficiency in Publisher and Word is desired.
  5. General layout and design skills are highly recommended
  6. Substantial standing and walking.
  7. Good customers service skills, habits, and attitude.
  8. Capable of handling packages up to 70 pounds.
  9. Will work mostly indoors, but will be required to work outdoors picking up and delivering mail or parcels in all types of weather – rain, cold, heat, snow.
  10. Must be self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to consistently handle the job.
  11. Must be able to determine and schedule priorities when there are multiple tasks.
  12. Must be flexible with work hours and dependable.
