SCHEDULE:

Office hours are primarily weekdays 8AM - 5PM, but responsibilities occasionally require additional hours and flexibility that can include evenings and weekends.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Creative Videographer will be responsible for utilizing their unique creative filmmaking and storytelling talent to discover and produce content that communicates the saga and reinforces the strategic brand messaging of The Christian Polytechnic University. As the university filmmaker, this individual is responsible for creating informative, high-impact content and compelling visual stories for regular distribution on the university’s primary marketing and communications platforms. These include but are not limited to the university website, social media properties, video channels, and social and digital advertising. Under the direction of the Associate Director for Video Production & Marketing Operations, this position will work as a part of an agile team of content creators, creative designers, and photographers to produce, refine, and enhance creative projects that advance the university brand.

 

The Creative Videographer:

  • Captures high-quality brand videography. The bulk of this position involves ‘in-the-field’ video content capture to equip the video team with a best-in-class cinematic stockpile of footage to fuel marketing and communications projects.
  • Serves as the university’s primary videographic storyteller. Consistently develops compelling video content that communicates The Christian Polytechnic story and brings relevant value to university constituents, across all media and primarily toward prospective students and families.
  • Works with the University Marketing & Communications team and cross-campus departments to identify compelling visual stories that support the university’s brand and overarching enrollment strategies.
  • Edits and distributes video content across all university platforms and channels in support of building brand awareness and achieving revenue-driven initiatives.
  • Develops key ongoing relationships with students, faculty and other constituents in order to gather and maintain relevant content.
  • Fully leverages the utilization of the University Marketing & Communications in-house studio and nimbly balances production and post-production workload demands.
  • Originates a creative approach and style of storytelling through video, audio, and motion graphics that fit within the context of the LeTourneau University visual brand identity.
  • Approaches work through a creative lens as a visual storyteller throughout the whole of the process, conceptualizing original ideas for videos used in marketing and advertising, storyboarding, crafting the visual narrative, editing, and polishing the finished product.
  • Maps out thoughtful, targeted approaches to the distribution of video content.
  • Manages and coordinates with student production assistants as necessary for the completion of projects.
  • Organizes and plans video productions within University Marketing and Communications project systems.
  • Creates and maintains archives of b-roll, raw video footage, and completed projects.
  • Takes a lead role in coordinating and maintaining production timelines with talent and support staff. (e.g., faculty, administrators, staff, students, alumni, donors).
  • Takes a lead role in event and video shoot logistics (sets up and strikes all lighting, camera, and audio equipment, directs talent as needed, etc.)
  • Fully leverages available audio and video post-production software for asset management, transcoding, titling, audio mixing, color grading, and media export.
  • Researches and implements new multimedia techniques to keep videos relevant to a modern audience.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, writing, marketing or journalism preferred. Master’s degree and experience in higher education a plus. A robust portfolio and extensive knowledge and proficiency utilizing the latest digital software packages including the Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve, Blackmagic Design products, Microsoft Office products, video and photo editing applications, and layout tools. Demonstrated excellence in digital content coordination, graphic design, photography, social media, videography, and a high degree of innovation throughout the professional portfolio; excellent analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills for visual information design; strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills; the ability to function as a part of a multidisciplinary team; the stamina to produce high-quality content in a fast-paced work environment; proficiency with state-of-the-art software and hardware to produce accurate and innovative multimedia projects; and the ability to quickly learn and integrate new tools and technologies to meet customer needs.
