POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Electronics Technician provides comprehensive support to the Electrical and Computer engineering (ECE) and engineering technology teaching laboratories, primarily in the Glaske Center for Engineering, Science, and Technology.

Duties include:

  • Supporting faculty members in setting up and operating of electrical teaching laboratories,
  • The process, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment (typical equipment includes oscilloscopes, signal generators, data acquisition systems, and power supplies) and student projects,
  • Ordering of supplies and consumables for laboratory activities,
  • Operation of supply/parts room,
  • Plans and schedules software upgrades; tests, debugs, configures, and documents software as required to meet user needs,
  • Development of custom electronic equipment for teaching laboratories,
  • Supervision of student workers in support of lab activities,
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, such as oversight of the ECE Dept. website may also be given, depending on need, individual abilities, and interests.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum qualifications include an associate degree, and an equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted instead of a degree.
