SCHEDULE:

Open positions for first shift - 4:00am – noon.  Typical work week is Monday through Fridays with overtime opportunities.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

You can be an integral part of the success of LeTourneau's ability to succeed in its mission and community covenants. While you will be performing routine custodial tasks, minor maintenance and repairs of custodial equipment with some supervision of assigned student workers, and other duties as assigned, your work at LeTourneau makes the widest impact and should not be undertaken lightly.

 

Routine duties include:

  • Routine Custodial tasks including, but are not limited to, mopping, vacuuming, trash collecting, window cleaning, washroom/shower sanitizing, carpet cleaning/extracting, and hard floor scrubbing/stripping and recoating
  • Proper usage of both light, medium, and heavy equipment (such as extractor/floor buffer).
  • Proper usage of LeTourneau University supplied chemicals.
  • Proper usage of safety equipment supplied by LeTourneau University.

Occasional duties include:

  • Moving and setting up for special events (tables and chairs).
  • Moving equipment with assistance (such as extractor/floor buffer, wet/dry vacuum, and carpet fan). Moving light furniture (chairs, disassembled beds, small boxes). In performing these duties, a custodian will use dollies as necessary.
  • Pulling out and pushing in Belcher Gym bleachers with assistance as needed.
  • Training and supervising of assigned student workers including On the Job training of Student Workers, Monitoring and Retraining Student Workers in Job Procedures as Needed, Implementing and complying with LeTourneau University's Policies and Procedures. Implementing Instructions from the Assistant Director of Custodial Services.

 

Physical motions include but are not limited to the following: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, scrubbing, bending, squatting, going up and down stairs, continuous standing and walking, and any combination of the preceding.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school education or equivalent fund of knowledge. Must be 18 years of age or older. Willing to be diligent, efficient, and punctual is preferred.
