REPORTS TO: Dean, School of Engineering and Engineering Technology
SCHEDULE: Office hours are primarily weekdays, but the responsibilities may require additional hours and flexibility that can include evenings and weekends.  The regular hours are 8:00 am-5:00 pm.

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of one so classified.

 Serves as the initial contact for the Office of the Dean, directing people and information to the Dean, Associate Dean or other personnel.  Schedules and coordinates the calendar for the Dean.  Assists the Dean with various committees, meetings and events, which may include facility reservations, food service and taking minutes.  Coordinates travel arrangements, conference registrations, and reservations for the Dean.  Assists in compliance with ABET accreditation. Maintains a strong professional decorum and warm atmosphere in the Office of the Dean.  Coordinates with the Academic Secretary and works closely with other Administrative Assistants and campus personnel.  Works with a high degree of confidentiality.

  • A bachelor’s degree or associate degree with equivalent experience and skills relevant to the position.Adeptness at greeting and communicating with faculty, staff, university personnel, community leaders, students, and other constituents in a friendly professional manner while maintaining a high degree of confidentially. 
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and must have had experience in an office environment in which he/she has demonstrated maturity, initiative, and good general secretarial skills, including computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, filing, writing, and editing. 
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team relationship with fellow staff and faculty members, and within the community of LeTourneau University. 
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal daily supervision.
