The position is a full-time, 9-month tenure-track faculty position for fall and spring semesters. Classes and other responsibilities are conducted weekdays primarily but will include some evening classes, independent studies, as well as some online teaching responsibilities. Attendance is required at some evening and weekend events.


Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in the field of structural engineering. Industrial experience in the areas of structural design, execution of civil construction projects, or general civil engineering is highly desirable. This position will focus on undergraduate teaching and project work in the areas of structural design, structural analysis, construction engineering, or general civil engineering. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about academic excellence and preparing students to impact the world for Jesus Christ within the vocation of civil engineering.


A Ph.D. required, along with demonstrated initiative and creativity in the field of structural engineering and design. Applicants must present evidence of outstanding potential in teaching and applied research. The successful individual must be able to effectively communicate subject material and have a proven ability to relate to students and faculty. Significant industrial experience in either the field of Construction or Structural Design translated towards student learning is beneficial. Prior research towards structural design and emerging technologies may also be desirable. A successful candidate will pursue licensure as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
