REPORTS TO: Chair, Department of Chemistry and Physics
SCHEDULE: Office hours are primarily weekdays, but responsibilities may require additional hours and flexibility, including evenings and weekends. The position is for nine months, with the possibility of summer school teaching.  Classes and other responsibilities are primarily conducted on weekdays but could include some evening classes and independent studies.  Attendance will also be required at some evening and weekend events.
  • Teach a full-time load of chemistry courses, involving preparation of course materials and assessments.
  • Conduct laboratory instruction conforming to best practices, including those for safety.
  • Obtain laboratory equipment and supplies for instruction and undergraduate research.
  • Empower and supervise undergraduate research.
  • Participate actively in the University learning community, including committees, seminars, and department meetings.
  • Participate in student advising and success programs.
  • Maintain a commitment to academic scholarship in the field of expertise.
  • LeTourneau University seeks an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith committed to Christian higher education that integrates Christian faith with learning.
  • Earned doctorate in chemistry with expertise in analytical and/or inorganic and/or organic chemistry
  • Demonstrated teaching competencies must include designing and teaching freshman to senior-level chemistry courses, including analytical and/or inorganic and/or organic chemistry.
  • The ability to teach biochemistry would be a plus.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively and professionally interact with students, colleagues, and administrators in a university learning community
  • Experience and skills in chemistry research are transferable to research that will involve undergraduate students
