SCHEDULE:

The McKinney Aviation Adjunct Instructor is part-time teaching position, responsible for specific dual credit courses offered by LeTourneau University’s College of Aviation and Aeronautical Science at our partner high schools in the North Dallas region. Opportunities to teach online classes for the program will also be available. These courses are taught in the Fall and Spring academic semesters.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  • Teach designated courses to students while being a motivating and encouraging factor in their
  • Manage the given course using the class’s online Learning Management System (Canvas), administering assessments, and maintaining course
  • Regularly communicate with the associate dean of aviation and the aviation staff in McKinney concerning the classes
QUALIFICATIONS:

LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith who is committed to Christian higher education that integrates Christian faith with learning. The College of Aviation and Aeronautical Science operates a flight-training program as part of its Professional aviation degree programs under CFR parts 147, 141 and 61. 

Minimum professional qualifications are:

  • To Teach Flight Ground School courses
    • S. degree in aviation (Masters’ degree preferred)
    • Advanced Ground Instructor Certificate
    • Aviation Maintenance Experience
    • A&P Mechanic Certificates (preferred)
    • Flight Certificates (preferred)
      • Commercial pilot – airplane single engine land
      • Commercial pilot – multi-engine land
      • Instrument rating – airplane
      • Certified flight instructor – airplane Certified flight instructor – instrument airplane
      • Certified flight instructor - multi-engine airplane
      • Tail-wheel endorsement

 Desirable professional qualifications and experience to teach other aviation degree related course work online:

    • Part 121/135 experience
    • Aviation Human Factors experience and training
    • Aviation Management experience and training
    • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic certificate
SALARY: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and other qualifications.
