Undergraduate Checklist

In order to receive admission into LeTourneau University as an international student, applicants must provide the university with the following documents and information:

Application

New Students

New students can complete the Application for Admission for free online.

LeTourneau University uses a rolling admissions schedule, but we encourage international students to submit their applications and all necessary documentation by the following deadlines:

June 15th                          Fall Semester Start Date (August)

November 15th                 Spring Semester Start Date (January)

Transfer Students

If you are an international student wanting to transfer to LETU who has completed at least one semester (12 credit hours) of university coursework, you do not need to submit any SAT or ACT scores. If you achieved a “C” or higher in a university-level English Composition course at an accredited college or university here in the US, you do not need to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores or any other proof of English proficiency.

If you have completed university-level coursework outside the US, please have your foreign university transcript evaluated by one of the following approved credential evaluation companies: SpanTranECE, or WES.

If you want to transfer to LETU from another college or university in the United States, once you have been admitted to LETU, present your LETU admission letter and SEVIS record transfer information (supplied by your LETU admissions counselor) to the DSO at your current institution. The DSO at your current school will then complete an I-20 Transfer Form for you.

Academic Documents

Submit official transcripts either by email or mail to the below listed address. All official transcripts must be sent directly from your high school or university. If you have completed university-level coursework outside the US, please have your foreign university transcript evaluated by one of the following approved credential evaluation companies: SpanTranECE, or WES.

Proof of English Proficiency

All international students must demonstrate English proficiency, meeting ONE of the below listed English proficiency standards:

*We prefer that new freshmen (first-year) students submit SAT or ACT scores as proof of English proficiency, since achieving the minimum score requirement on either of these exams would provide the necessary proof of English proficiency as well as possibly enable students to receive higher scholarship awards. LETU’s official SAT school code is 6365, and our ACT school code is 4120.

Transfer students can submit any of the above standards as proof of English proficiency without it having any effect on their scholarship amount.

If students do not meet one of the above English proficiency standards, they must complete an advanced English as Second Language program, such as ELS Level 109 or ECI Level 304.

Proof of Financial Resources

The I-20 Form, necessary for securing a student visa to enter the US, will be sent to you only after admission to LeTourneau University and proof of financial resources have been established.

According to I-20 guidelines, you must demonstrate that you will be able to afford an education at LETU through bank statements and pay the $100 housing fee and $100 tuition deposit. To establish proof of financial resources, please send us a copy of your bank statement or a letter from your bank showing that you have sufficient financing in place to cover the cost of attendance for one academic year. You can either email your proof of finances to us or mail it to the below listed address.

On your I-20, the total cost of attendance will include the current cost of tuition, room and board, and insurance. More detailed information about tuition and fees can be found at Tuition and Fees. The tuition deposit will be held in escrow and applied toward your first year's expenses.

Copy of Passport with Photo

Please submit a copy of your passport picture page with your application.
