ELS 109 -

LeTourneau University offers an ESL program for students already at an intermediate or advanced proficiency level in English. Students may enroll for 12 hours per semester at either the intermediate or advanced level. Students must enter the program with a working knowledge of English due to the fact that these classes are designed to prepare students for university-level courses and degree completion at LeTourneau University.

LETU's TOEFL school code is 6653.

ELS Language Center Logo

LeTourneau University has signed a conditional admission articulation agreement with ELS Language Centers. Completion of ELS level 109 is sufficient to meet the English proficiency  requirement for admission to the LeTourneau undergraduate program. Please visit www.els.edu for more information regarding ELS programs.

If the partner university provides certification that incoming exchange students’ courses are instructed in English, then the English test requirement may be waived. Such incoming exchange students may be required, however, to take an ESL placement test upon arrival at LeTourneau. If students demonstrate university-level English language proficiency on the placement test, they will be exempted from taking ESL courses.

Proof of Financial Resources

The I-20 Form, necessary for securing a student visa to enter the U.S., will be sent to you only after admissions to LeTourneau University and proof of financial resources have been established.

According to I-20 guidelines, you must demonstrate that you will be able to afford an education at LETU through bank statements and pay the $100 housing fee and $100 tuition deposit. To establish proof to financial resources, please have your bank send a copy of your bank statement to the International Admissions Office (see address below).

On your I-20, the total cost of attendance will include the current cost of tuition, room and board, and insurance. More detailed information about tuition and fees can be found at Tuition & Fees. The tuition deposit will be held in escrow and applied toward your first year's expenses.
