"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel form the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

My Testimony…

Family life was hard my senior year of high school, so I worked diligently to become financially independent. As a result, it meant my college decision was based solely on finances. As life became harder emotionally, I rebelled heavily against what little I knew about the Bible and “being a good person.” So, when a community mentor who had previously attended LeTourneau asked me to apply, I only did so out of respect for her friendship. As it happens, LeTourneau offered me the best financial package, but I was less than thrilled about being at a Christian university. It turns out LeTourneau was my salvation in disguise. I came to know Christ three days before I started my first Bible class, and I relied heavily on my Gilbert Hall suitemates and female professor mentors to learn what it meant to be a woman of God and put away my rebellious ways. I am so grateful for the people I’ve been able to connect with and LeTourneau’s eternal influence on my life.

As a Student…

I was fortunate enough to attend LeTourneau without burdening my parents for any financial assistance. As a result, I held four, sometimes six, student jobs at any one point to cover books, activities, etc. My life was a fine balance of maintaining my GPA while keeping my bank account in the green. One of the student jobs I had was in the Office of Development as a Phonathon caller. I got to speak to and pray with many alumni and donors, which daily kept me grateful for their influence, both financially and spiritually.

When Times Became Desperate…

Thanksgiving 2011 of my senior year, I realized I did not have enough money to pay for my last semester at LeTourneau. I was $3700 short. Before I left for Christmas, my boss in the Development Office asked me for my testimony as a scholarship kid for their Donor Christmas letter. When I came back from break and went to make a small payment on my balance, the cashier told me that my bill had been paid in full by several outside donors. Tears still well in my eyes as I remember FEELING (for the second time in my life) the depth of the phrase “PAID IN FULL.” It was such an amazing mercy the Lord had given me through the donors who had read my story. I was overwhelmed by the generosity and encouragement. And as if this university wasn't enough of a gem, they also offered me a full-time position as an Admissions Counselor once I graduated.

Why I’m Back…

After moving around with my engineer husband the past five years, we felt the Lord’s calling on our hearts to move back to specifically South Longview from Augusta, Georgia. We truly believe God paved the way to sell our Georgia house in four days, provided a stellar job for my husband, and presented this position to me as an amazing opportunity to give back to the university I love and treasure so much.

My Mission…

I am SO grateful for our donors and friends of the university that I want to find ways to take care of YOU! It sounds crazy, but I am so excited to connect with you, learn what cheers you up, makes you laugh, puts a spring in your step, or helps navigate some of life’s more pressing situations. My goal is to TRY to be as much of service to you as you have been to the university and to me as a former scholarship kid. You are all so precious to me. I have enjoyed the conversations I’ve had with alumni and donors thus far and look forward to more as I fulfill my role as the Director of Donor Care. Thank you so much!

Please feel free to reach out to me any time, especially if you are near Longview! I am happy to meet with, talk to on the phone, or text with anyone! My cell phone number is (903) 720-6237. Looking forward to meeting you!!
