LETU To Host Hymn Sing in Speer Chapel Sept. 30

LeTourneau University will host an old-fashioned Hymn Sing from 5 to 6:16 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, in Speer Chapel, on the LeTourneau University campus, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave.

The Hymn Sing is especially for church hymn lovers to worship the Lord with familiar, old-fashioned hymns that may not have been sung for years, since many churches have eclipsed them with “praise and worship” music in many evangelical churches today.
The event will provide opportunity for singers to sing parts, sing a cappella and call out favorites to sing.

The event is led by David Berryhill of First Baptist Church of Kilgore and by LETU Director of Fine Arts Dr. Jim Taylor.
“Speer Chapel is a wonderful setting for this Hymn Sing, with its 200-seat capacity, traditional old New England chapel design, and excellent singing acoustics,” Taylor said.

A love offering will be received to help with fundraising for an opportunity for LeTourneau Singers to perform next June at Carnegie Hall in New York.
