LETU Names Dr. Scott Anson to Engineering Faculty


LeTourneau University has named Dr. Scott Anson as associate professor of mechanical engineering.

Anson comes to LETU from his 10-year service at Rochester Institute of Technology, where he served as the manufacturing engineering technology program chair for five years. As program chair, Anson lead manufacturing faculty budget meetings, mentored new faculty and recruited new students.

Anson holds an associate degree in engineering science from Broome Community College, a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from State University of New York, a Master of Science in mechanical engineering, materials concentration, from Binghamton University, a doctoral degree in systems science, manufacturing systems concentration, from Binghamton University and his professional engineering license in mechanical engineering.

Anson has held numerous positions within the field of engineering including: process engineer for EMS Technologies, process research engineer for Universal Instruments, an advisory engineer for IBM, advisory engineer for Endicott Interconnect Technologies Inc., assistant professor at RIT, editor-in-chief of the Journal of Applied Science and Engineering Technology and adjunct director of technology for IEC Electronics Inc.

As an assistant professor at RIT, Anson received a National Science Foundation grant to provide equipment to aid undergraduate and graduate students in their course work. He also has experience teaching graduate courses in robots and computer integrated manufacturing, electronic manufacturing and failure analysis in electronics packaging.
