LETU Fall 2013 Classes Begin Monday, Aug. 26


LeTourneau University will begin classes for new and returning students for the Fall 2013 semester on Monday, Aug. 26. Check-in to residence halls for new students will take place Wednesday, Aug. 21. New student registration will take place Thursday, Aug. 22. Orientation for new students will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 21, and last through Monday, Aug. 26.

Returning students can check into their residence halls Saturday, Aug. 24.

The last day to register or change registration for Fall 2013 is Friday, Aug. 30. LeTourneau University will hold classes on Labor Day.

LETU welcomes two new deans to the university this year. Dr. Bruce Bowman will be the dean of the School of Business; and Dr. Kimberly Quiett is the new dean of LETU's proposed School of Nursing, pending SACSCOC and Texas Board approval.

New faculty members for 2013-2014 include: Dr. Scott Anson, associate professor of mechanical engineering; Dr. Peter Bradley, psychology professor and director of clinical training; Dr. David Dittenber, associate professor of civil engineering; Dr. Aaron Kuecker, associate professor of theology and director of Honors College; Dr. Daniel Ostendorff, assistant professor of history/political science; Dr. Jeffrey Quiett, professor of psychology; Dr. Luke Tallon, assistant professor of theology; Dr. Charles West, professor of psychology and director of graduate counseling and marriage and family therapy program; and Dr. Mark Williams, professor of accounting. LETU also welcomes Dr. Byron K. Lichtenberg, as a visiting scholar in mechanical engineering.

Also new this year are Leslie Bowman, director of the Learning Resources Center; and Dr. Jodie Hilburn, an instructor in teacher education.

LeTourneau University is an interdenominational Christ-centered university located in Longview that offers academic majors in aviation, business, communication, criminal justice, education, engineering, health science-nursing, human services, kinesiology, the liberal arts, the sciences and psychology.

LETU also offers graduate degrees in business administration, counseling, education, engineering, psychology and strategic leadership.

In addition to its residential campus in Longview, the university offers undergraduate and graduate programs online and at educational centers in Bedford, Dallas, Houston and Tyler.
