Robert Spencer, the stars of the original cast of Broadway's Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys. Sinbad-7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6
Ranked by Comedy Central as one of the top 100 stand-up comedians of all time, Sinbad has built a loyal following by taking audiences' painful trials or embarrassing tribulations of day-by-day life, throwing them back in their faces, and causing an uproar of comedic hysteria. He can also make it sound profound without being profane. The son of a preacher man says he decided to keep his comedy clean after his father attended one of his early performances. Sinbad says he learned that night that "funny is funny," and masters of comedy could all work clean without losing a step. The show is sponsored by Longview Regional Medical Center and Neiman Marcus.

Shrek the Musical-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film that started it all, Shrek the Musical brings the hilarious story of everyone's favorite ogre to life on stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre, not a handsome prince, shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won't shut up, a villain with a short temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairytale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand and his name is Shrek. The twisted fairy tale features 19 new songs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery and was described by reviewers as the funniest new musical on Broadway. The show is sponsored by Texas Bank and Trust.

In a pleasantly surprising way, the California trio's steel stringed-guitars blend naturally with the Montreal trio's nylon-stringed guitars, as each trios fret boards chase the others' original compositions and new arrangements of progressive rock, world, jazz and classical music. Black Violin now wants to make sure North America's young people get the same exposure to the arts and opportunity they did. Performing and touring with Alicia Keys, P.
