LETU Names Kathy Majzner as New University Registrar


LeTourneau University has named Kathy Majzner to the position of University Registrar, effective July 1.

As the LETU Registrar, Majzner (pronounced MIZE-ner) will report to the associate provost for academic administration and quality assurance and will serve as the university's chief advisement officer. Majzner will provide training for new and veteran faculty on curriculum and degree program requirements and equip the records office staff to assist students more fully.

Majzner has served LETU in several capacities since her initial employment in 2002. She served at the Dallas site as Coordinator of Student Services, achieving the rank of Master Faculty, and later relocated to Longview to serve as the Director of Academic Services for the university's School of Graduate and Professional Studies (GAPS).

Majzner has served as a liaison with the LETU Registrar's Office to provide services for working adult students in her role as a key member of the GAPS leadership team. Part of her work included development and revision of the catalog and other academic policies, course scheduling, the evaluation of transfer credits, and academic advisement. As such, she has a thorough knowledge of LETU policies, procedures, and software. Her extensive knowledge of GAPS will assist her with coordinating records office functions for both the university's traditional and non-traditional programs.

Majzner earned her bachelor's degree from Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. and her master's degree in Education from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. She and her husband, Rick, live in Longview.
