LETU Announces New International Recruiter Alan Clipperton

LeTourneau University has named Alan Clipperton as its new associate vice president for International Admissions and Enrollment Services to lead recruitment and retention of international students.

Clipperton comes to LeTourneau from Northern State University where he served as the English as a Second Language Coordinator for the last several years. During his time as ESL coordinator, Alan specialized in international student recruitment, program development, retention and curriculum development.

Clipperton holds a graduate degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Minnesota State University. He holds undergraduate degrees in Automotive Technology from Dunwoody College of Technology and Cross-cultural Studies from Toccoa Falls College. Recently, Clipperton was named Program Manager of the Year in 2010 by Northern State University and received national recognition for his work in Intensive English Program curriculum development.

As the new associate vice president for International Admissions and Enrollment Services at LETU, Clipperton will lead the recruiting and retention efforts for all international students. This position will recruit international students for both undergraduate and graduate programs, including international students currently studying in the United States and want to transfer to LeTourneau University.

"Alan's special area of focus will be to lead in the recruitment, retention, and alumni services for our international students," said LETU Vice President for Global Initiatives Dr. Robert W. Hudson. "Having lived, studied, and worked overseas, Alan brings the knowledge and skills that will help us achieve our vision of becoming a university of global influence.

Hudson said Clipperton's international network both at a personal and institutional level will help the university expand its current partnerships with international universities and establish additional partnerships globally.

"Alan's experience in the area of establishing and growing Intensive English Programs will be of great benefit to the university," Hudson said. "We are delighted to have someone with Alan's background to lead in this important initiative."
