LETU Fall Classes to Begin Tuesday, Aug. 23


LeTourneau University will begin classes for new and returning students for the fall 2011 semester on Tuesday, Aug. 23. New student registration and check-in to residence halls will be Thursday, Aug. 18. Orientation sessions will be from Thursday, Aug. 18, through Monday, Aug. 22. Returning students can check into their residence halls Sunday, Aug. 21. Registration for classes for returning students is Monday, Aug. 22.

The last day to register or change registration is Monday, Aug. 29. LeTourneau University will hold classes on Labor Day.

The new academic year will include some new faces on campus, including new Provost and Executive Vice President Dr. Philip A. Coyle, Special Assistant to the Provost Dr. Stephanie Kirschmann, and two new deans, Dr. Ronald DeLap, dean of the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology, and Dr. Larry Frazier, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.

New faculty members for the 2011-2012 include Emily Bellamy, assistant professor of accounting; Dr. Gustavo Cortes, assistant professor of civil engineering; Dr. Wilson de Angelo Cunha, assistant professor of biblical studies; Jeninne McNeill, assistant professor of psychology; Dr. Michele R. Staples, assistant professor of Teacher Education; and Dr. Curtis L. Wesley, assistant professor of mathematics/statistics.
