LETU Awards First Richard Johnson Endowed Scholarship to Andrew Hoos


LeTourneau University has awarded the first Richard Johnson Endowed Scholarship in Chemistry to Andrew Hoos of Hemet, Calif., who is a student in his second year at LETU and who is double majoring in chemistry with a physics concentration and computer science with mathematics concentration. The scholarship is for the 2011-2012 academic year.

"Andrew has proven to be an exceptional student and has demonstrated the faith and character traits we hope to see in our students," said Dr. Steve Ball, chair of the Chemistry and Physics department and a professor of physics. "We feel that Andrew is a very deserving recipient who meets all of the criteria."

The criteria for the scholarship include a minimum grade point average of 3.0, at least a sophomore level standing, enrollment as a fulltime student majoring in chemistry and evidence of a Christian faith, personal and academic initiative
