LETU To Host Hawk Nelson Show Oct. 10


LeTourneau University is hosting the Hawk Nelson "Fly Me To The Show" Tour at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, at the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center on the university's main campus, 2100 S. Mobberly in Longview. Joining Hawk Nelson on the tour will be Britt Nicole, Revive, John Reuben and local band Set Free.

Tickets in the first four rows are $40 and include a T-shirt and private, pre-show, mini-concert with Hawk Nelson. Tickets in the first orchestra section and the first three rows of the second orchestra section are $25, the remaining seats in the second orchestra will cost $15 and all other seats in the upper and lower balcony will cost $10. Hawk Nelson (HN), a rock band from Ontario, Canada, has become very popular in the Christian world of music. In 2006, the band was voted "Favorite New Artist" by Contemporary Christian Music Magazine in the Reader's Choice Awards. Also in 2006, the band won a #1 spot on the VH1's top 20 video countdown for the music video "The One Thing I Have Left." The band comprises Jason Dunn (lead vocals and piano), Daniel Biro (bass and backing vocals), Jonathan Steingard (guitar) and Justin Benner (drums). The band received GMA Canada Covenant Awards for its Smile, It's the End of the World album, voted Modern Rock/Alternative Album of the Year in 2006. In 2009 the band's song "Live Life Loud" was voted the Modern Rock/Alternative Song of the Year.

Contemporary Christian singer Britt Nicole has released her sophomore album "The Lost Get Found" which peaked at number 1 on Billboard's Christian Album's chart in 2009. Her second single from that album, "Walk on Water" went to the top of Christian radio charts and was promoted on NBC's "The Biggest Loser" television series. Her third album, "Acoustic," was released last month.

Atlanta-based Revive has released four albums since forming in 2004 and relocating to the United States from Australia. The band was featured in the 2010 Winter Jam Tour with the Newsboys.
