LETU to Host Christian Teacher Conference May 26-28


LeTourneau University will host the ninth biennial conference of the International Community of Christian Teacher Educators May 26-28 with the theme, "Igniting the Flames of Faith and Learning: Preparing Caring, Competent Teachers."

The ICCTE is an organization of Christian schools, colleges and universities with teacher education programs that focus on relevant professional interests shared by those involved in preparation of teachers for the next generation. The ICCTE believes Christian teachers should be the best-qualified and most compassionate teachers.

Conference registration cost is $295 and includes dinner on Wednesday, three meals Thursday and breakfast and lunch on Friday. Lodging rates on campus are $45 per night single occupancy or $36 per night double occupancy. A list of local hotels is also available.

The conference begins Wednesday, May 26 with registration from 2 to 5 p .m. Following a dinner banquet at 6 p.m., keynote speaker Frank Winstead will provide the welcome and opening remarks at 7 p.m. A day trip to visit the Shreveport River Walk is scheduled as an optional event on Friday evening.
