LeTourneau Spring Enrollment Reaches All-Time High


LeTourneau University's traditional enrollment for Spring 2009 marks the university's all-time highest record for a spring semester with 1,275 enrolled at the Longview campus, topping last year's record enrollment of 1,218.
Among those enrolled this semester are at least 40 international students hailing from Korea, India, Kenya, Japan, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Austria, The Netherlands, Ecuador, the Republic of Cameroon, Malaysia, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico.
This spring marks the sixth year of consecutive spring enrollment growth, with a record number of returning students from the fall semester. Traditional enrollment numbers include students who generally range in age from 18-22 at the Longview campus. The school annually reports its official enrollments on the 12 th class day.
The Spring 2009 semester also marks a record dual credit enrollment, with 23 high school students gaining college credits while still in high school.
"Our Spring 2009 enrollment and retention, as well as our dual-credit enrollment, reflect the value our students and their families place on a LeTourneau University education, despite these uncertain economic times," said LETU President Dr. Dale A. Lunsford.
LeTourneau University is an interdenominational Christian university offering academic majors in the aeronautical sciences, business, education, engineering, the humanities and sciences.
