As a traditional student, I came to LETU in 1976 after some persuasion from my then boyfriend and aviation student, Fred Ritchey, whom I married in 1978. At that time, I put my education on hold until 1996 and in 2001, I graduated with my Business Administration degree in the non- traditional, GAPS, program for working adults. I have worked on campus for a number of years and in various places. Fred has been the Dean of the School of Aviation and Aeronautical Science for 30+ years, and we have two children who also graduated from LETU. We are a family that loves LETU!
I feel fortunate to have had the experience of being a traditional/non-traditional student and a parent. As a traditional student studying for Missions/Speech Communications, I was introduced to a global view and then studying for my BBA gave me the knowledge of how to succeed in the business environment. As an alumna, I cherish the college relationships that I have built over the years and enjoy reconnecting, meeting and reminiscing with alumni, and building new relationships with alumni and parents. As a former parent, I can relate to the parent/student processes while answering their questions and giving encouragement. It is a joy to connect with students and their families and to keep both alumni and parents coming back to see what God is doing at LETU.
