Conclusion

Neither the medical community, nor the people who have actually attempted the Atkins diet have conclusively proven it as right or wrong.

If a person's primary goal is only to lose weight, and he is not concerned with his health, then the Atkins diet is not for him. If the dieter is epileptic or diabetic, and is seeking treatment for his illness, then the diet may be for him. On the other hand, if the dieter is concerned with his health, then the diet might not be the best way for him lose weight.
