The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Board of Trustees reaffirmed the accreditation of LeTourneau University during its annual meeting recently in Atlanta, Georgia.
SACSCOC conducts extensive accreditation reviews every 10 years to assure the educational quality and effectiveness of its member institutions.
“The SACSCOC review is a comprehensive and rigorous examination of all the services we perform as an institution of higher education,” said LETU President Dr. Dale A. Lunsford. “Reaffirmation of accreditation means LETU faculty and staff are serving our students with excellence. We are advancing toward our vision of serving the world as the premier Christian polytechnic university.”
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states. It serves as the common denominator of shared values and practices among the diverse institutions in Alabama Florida Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Latin America and other international sites approved by the Commission that award associate, baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degrees. SACSCOC is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
