LeTourneau University announces a new partnership with Frisco Independent School District that will offer dual credit courses in aviation to high school juniors and seniors. Through this partnership, Frisco ISD students will have the opportunity to earn up to 12 hours of college credit in aviation while still attending Frisco ISD High Schools.
LeTourneau University will send an aviation professor to Frisco’s Career and Technical Education Center where students from all over the district can be bused in for aviation classes. With this addition, Frisco ISD now offers courses in all 16 clusters of Career and Technical Education areas as outlined by the Texas Education Agency.
Fred Ritchey, dean of LeTourneau University’s College of Aviation and Aeronautical Science, says he is excited for the opportunities that these students will have pursuing careers in aviation.
“Frisco ISD is a very strong district academically, and the administration of FISD shares with us a passion for helping students succeed,” Ritchey said. “We have another great partner in education, and ultimately, that is another great win for the students we serve.”
Classes will officially take off from the CTE Center next fall. For more information on how to begin a career in aviation while still in high school at Frisco ISD or any of LeTourneau’s other partnering districts, please visit LeTourneau University’s Dual Credit website at www.letu.edu/DualCredit.
