LeTourneau University held its 2nd annual Aviation Art Show at the Abbott Aviation Center, with the following entries awarded as winners.
In the Art category, LETU students David Shimp took first place with his painting of a World War II aviation mechanic. LETU Nathan O’Quinn won second place with his pencil sketch drawing of an F-18. Lisa Ward of Fort Worth won third place with her painting of an airplane prop silhouetted against a brilliant sunset.
In the Photography category, first and second place went to Linda Cortelyou of Pittsburg, Texas, for her photos of military planes. LETU student Justin Sutton won third place with his photo of an American Airlines jetliner taxiing near an airport terminal.
The winners won prizes that included cash and ribbons.
“We really appreciated the support of the community of our second annual aviation art show,” said event organizer Phil Rispin. “We are already planning for next year’s event.”
