LeTourneau University is offering a new “Spring Scholarship Competition” preview day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 24, to give high school seniors the opportunity to compete for additional scholarship dollars on campus. Multiple scholarships in varying amounts are expected to be awarded.
To compete for these additional scholarships, high school seniors must have a minimum of 24 composite ACT score or 1110 critical reading and math SAT score and unweighted 3.0 grade point average, as well as already be accepted to LETU. Students will compete with an interview and writing sample on the day of competition.
The university is building a significant "Honors College" and requires students interested in consideration for these scholarships to submit a one-page resume listing honors and co-curricular activities. All students participating in this scholarship competition will receive additional award consideration with most students winning significant additional awards based on the results of their interviews writing samples, institutional fit, leadership abilities, co-curricular engagements and potential.
“By making scholarship awards available to a large group of highly competitive individuals seeking LeTourneau University, we are responding to the demand from our students,” said Steve Condon, vice president for enrollment services. “Faculty and key staff members will be available to speak to parents and students. We will provide lunch and refreshments for those who come that day. We will expect a writing sample and an interview with our Deans to receive an award.”
LETU is emphasizing its School of Business, School of Education, and School of Arts and Sciences specifically during this competition, however seniors interested in Engineering and Aeronautical Science are also welcome.
