LeTourneau University will host Christian author Fred Stoeker as he speaks about sexual purity during chapel services from 10:50 to 11:30 a.m. and again at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave.  Both of Stoeker’s presentations are open to the public.

Stoeker is the author of Every Man’s Battle and Every Young Man’s Battle. Stoeker faced a moment of truth regarding his own sexual purity a few years after his wedding in 1981. Stoeker is well aware of the battle men face with sexual sin, as he struggled with pornographic materials for around 20 years. Despite entering a committed relationship with Jesus Christ at age 23, Fred continued to struggle with pornography until his wedding the following year. He quickly found that marriage did not eliminate the problem, and the negative effects of his sexual sin upon his intimacy with God and with his wife, Brenda, grew more each year. Stoeker allowed God to make his journey one that has had great impact on this generation of men.

Every Man's Battle is currently translated into Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Indonesian, Chinese and Russian, and has sold nearly 650,000 copies worldwide. Every Man's Marriage was written as a partner book for Every Man's Battle and was awarded the Silver Medallion Book of the Year by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association in the Marriage category in 2002. Every Young Man's Battle won Gold Medallion honors in the Teen category in 2003.

Preparing Your Son for Every Man's Battle and Every Man's Challenge mark the fourth and fifth books authored by Stoeker in the Every Man's Series with his co-author, Stephen Arterburn, and his editor, Mike Yorkey. Preparing Your Son for Every Man’s Battle won Gold Medallion honors in the Parenting category in 2004.
